Veins carry non-oxygenated blood from lower extremities and other organs back to the heart. The disease noted are mostly due to either thrombosis (clot formation ) in the vein hence leading to obstruction of flow back to the heart, or dilatation of the vein (varicose) leading to reverse flow of blood back to the lower extremities.
